Fill a Prescription

Current doctors can send prescriptions by calling 817-257-8849, faxing 817-207-0479, or send electronically transmitted prescription (E-scribe) to TCU Health Center Pharmacy.

Have your student ID and your prescription insurance card ready to show us. If you have the TCU Student Health Insurance Plan, you can download your prescription ID card at United HealthCare Student Resources.  If using your parent’s insurance, ask them for copies of these cards.

If refills remain on your prescription, please email pharmacy@tcu.edu with your name, student ID, prescription name and number and we will text you when your medication is ready.

If your prescription is out of refills, please contact your prescriber for a new prescription and follow their instructions. Some offices may require 48 to 72 hours to authorize refill requests.

Email pharmacy@tcu.edu with your name, student ID, prescription name and number, and phone number of the other pharmacy that has your active refills. Please allow 24 hours to complete the transfer. We will text you when your medication is ready.

The TCU pharmacy has permission from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy to fill currently enrolled students’ out-of-state Schedule II prescriptions in accordance with Texas state and federal laws and must adhere to the following guidelines:

Only electronically transmitted prescriptions (E-scribe) are accepted.

The prescription must be filled within 30 days from the date the prescription is written.

Texas law prohibits nurse practitioners (APRN) or physician’s assistants (PA) from prescribing C-II prescriptions. The prescription must be authorized by a physician (MD or DO).

Only registered TCU students may fill out-of-state C II prescriptions.

The patient must provide a valid TCU Student ID and/or driver’s license to pick up the prescribed medication.

No Schedule II prescriptions will be mailed or picked up by a third party. Students must sign acknowledging receipt of their medication.

Schedule II drugs include stimulants that are used in the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy.
