The following questions should be considered before declining the TCU-offered Aetna Student Health Insurance:
Does your plan provide for medically-necessary care at the TCU Health Center and/or in the Fort Worth area?
· Services such as x-rays, MRI’s, lab tests, dressings, GYN exams & Pap Smears, immunizations, etc. are covered at 100% when you are seen and treated at the AAAHC accredited TCU Health Center.· As a major medical policy, the TCU Plan gives you the freedom to choose any doctor or health care provider when seeking care off campus. However, you will receive greater benefits by selecting an Aetna network provider.
Does your plan include prescription coverage?
· The Pharmacy Benefit is $100,000 per Plan Year.· Contraceptive Drugs are reimbursable at 100%
· Covered prescriptions filled at the TCU Health Center Pharmacy may be eligible for an 80% reimbursement by submitting a claim to Aetna Student Health and meeting the $300 deductible. Covered prescriptions filled at any other pharmacy may be eligible for a 70% reimbursement.
What is the deductible on your current policy?
· The in-network deductible on the TCU Plan is $300; out-of-network is $600 per Plan Year.
What is your benefit plan maximum?
· The TCU Plan maximum benefit is $500,000 per illness or injury
Are you covered for medical treatment while traveling away from home or studying abroad?
· There is a Travel’s Assistance Service as part of the TCU Plan
