AFTER HOURS INFORMATION

For Students with Aetna Student Health Insurance

Informed Health Line provides 24-hour telephone access to registered nurses who can provide information on a variety of health topics.  You can get answers to your health questions along with recommendations on the best course of action.  This will vary from recommending a trip to the ER to helping you understand your health issue in order to decide on a course of action.  Questions on medications and treatments are answered but the nurses cannot diagnose, prescribe, or give medical advice.  You will receive help in formulating and prioritizing questions to ask your doctor on your next visit.  Your call is strictly confidential.             Call 1-800-556-1555   to reach   Informed Health Line.

Aetna Navigator is your secure member website.  By registering at www.aetna.com you can access information online about your Student Health Insurance policy including benefits and the status of any claims you have filed.  Also, for specific information about health concerns, you can access sections such as “Take Action on Your Health,” “Treating Illness” and “Staying Healthy” at www.aetna.com/index.htm.

Register today – it’s easy – it’s informative – it’s your personal member website!

IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY WHILE THE HEALTH CENTER IS CLOSED THESE HOSPITALS HAVE 24 HR. EMERGENCY ROOMS WITHIN A FEW MILES OF CAMPUS

Click on the Hospital Name for a map and driving instructions from the TCU campus.

Baylor All Saints Hospital - 1400 8th Ave.

Baylor All Saints Cityview Hospital - 7100 Oakmont Dr.

Harris Hospital Southwest - 6100 Harris Parkway

Harris Hospital Fort Worth - 1301 Pennsylvania

Printed maps are available outside the front door of the Health Center.

In the event of life-threatening emergencies such as severe bleeding or heart attack, immediately call 911 for an ambulance. Make sure you give clear directions about where the victim is located. 911 calls from a cell phone do not give the 911 operator your location. After you have called for the ambulance, call the TCU Police (817-257-7777) so that an officer can guide the ambulance and investigate the incident. Remember the ambulance driver will not be as familiar with the campus as you are.
