Undergraduate Students carrying nine or more hours are REQUIRED to have health insurance through either the Texas Christian University Aetna Student Health Insurance or an individual/family plan.
The Aetna Student Health Plan is a major medical policy providing benefits for injuries and illnesses both on and off campus.
Students who have adequate health insurance coverage through a family/individual policy, which will remain in effect throughout the 2009-10 academic year, may waive out of the university insurance plan by following the directions on the ELECT/WAIVE portion of the website.
If not waived by the deadline of September 2, 2009, the student will be automatically enrolled in the TCU Student Insurance and billed the semester charge of $670.
Undergraduates taking less than nine semester hours have the option of specifically enrolling in the Texas Christian University Student Health Insurance Plan.
Health Services at TCU's Brown Lupton Health Center are available to all currently enrolled, degree seeking students regardless of their insurance coverage.
